who we are and what we do

act up was created by Gemma Lloyd in the Summer of 1999.

Until recently we ran very successful acting courses that enabled many people from all walks of life into the industry, we championed equal opportunities for everyone before many in the industry stood up and it is still something we are incredibly passionate about.

Take control. Recently we have altered the design of act up so it becomes more about you, take control and tell us what you want.

While we wait to hear from you, we are focusing on our small and perfectly formed agency of brilliant actors, our creative consultancy and our voice and presentation skills courses.

In our spare time we continue to collaborate  with charities to encourage further people to engage with the arts and is something we’re excited about developing.

Gemma has recently become a trustee for The National Youth Arts Trust, a charity that provides access to the performing arts, for young people from non-privileged backgrounds and she also co-owns Love Art, an organisation based in Tooting Market that promotes the arts, runs courses and sells affordable prints to everyone.

She actively encourages new ideas, support and cross collaboration, works as an artist in her own right so might just get you….

So ask her a question, dare you.
